La Mesa EOS Test Engineer will be required to support electronics and optical testing in a high volume DOD/MIL production environment. The task will entail coordination with Orlando GTL staff on test equipment development, test procedure development, test equipment maintenance and debug. This LMF OES Test Engineer will be the first line troubleshooter of HP 3070, PXI, Eclypse, DITMCO, and manual test equipment. Test Engineer will be required to coordinate all procedural and software changes with the Orlando staff.Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

Required Skills

Technical:
Electrical / Optical systems Troubleshooting skills
Familiar with test instrumentation for thermal and vibration environments.
Familiar with environmental testing (Vibration / thermal)
Knowledgeable in programming (C, LabView, TestStand, HP3070, Eclypse, DITMCO, CIRRIS)
Familiar with DOD / Mil Test specifications and documentation requirements
Computer literate:
Microsoft Office Applications
Familiar with following test equipment

NI / PXI Tester

Thermatron, Envirotronics Thermal Chamber programming
Optical Test set-up
People:
Training staff on new test procedures, hardware and test equipment.
Communication:
Written communication skills - able to author test / proof test procedures
Bilingual. Required to translate Test Procedures from English to Spanish

Desired Skills

Familiar with IFS application
Statistical analysis of test data to document trending and make predictive corrects to avoid failures.
