The Quality Engineer - III will support product development and production by reviewing and assuring proper quality requirements are met and that Quality Standards are implemented and followed per customer, company and regulatory (Government & FAA) requirements. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for making difficult determinations regarding the quality, safety and airworthiness of products and materials. The Quality Engineer will also partner with and give guidance to customers and suppliers to assure quality requirements and expectations are met.

This position will work on the shop floor and will provide hands on support to the manufacturing and assembly process as it relates to Boeing 787 Thrust Reverser line and of the assembly of metallic materials and mechanical hardware. Examples of processes within area of responsibility are steel and aluminum processing & assembly, forming, heat treatment, grinding and polishing. The selected candidate would be expected to be fully supportive of Goodrich Values, Goodrich People Philosophy, and Lean Manufacturing.

Candidate will work within factory environment ensuring quality expectations are accomplished. Candidate will be required to provide technical support relative to quality, quality trends, real time problem resolution, and have a bias for action to correct any adverse issues that surface. Interfacing with all levels of leadership, as well as being a focal for internal and external customers will be required as applicable to quality issues. The Quality Engineer will support requirements relative to audits, as well as ongoing monitoring and verification that work is being performed in full support of compliance requirements. Candidate must be able to interpret engineering, quality manuals, and customer specifications. Must be able to perform root cause analysis, formulate corrective action plans, and manage these plans until completed.

Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Quality Engineering or similar technical discipline and 2-5 years of relevant Quality Engineering experience is required.
The selected candidate will enhance and support teamwork, and support an environment where all team members are able to participate in CI (Continuous Improvement) and utilize the tools on a daily basis.
Successful candidate must have excellent communication and presentation skills utilizing tools such as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Candidates must have current travel Visa to travel to US for training and events.
Experience operating within a fast paced aerospace company would be highly preferred. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints, quality manuals, and customer specifications and work with ISO or AS9100 quality management systems.
